Chapter 30: Date Night

Chapter Cast (at the end of the chapter)

Vic shrugged off her covers and headed out of our makeshift living room tent as I lightly dozed holding Audrey. It was not yet light out, I figured, given how dark it was outside the flap as Vic left. Gwen was snoring moderately on her back nearby. I squeezed Audrey and held her as I slid just around the edges of falling back asleep.

Too soon, Audrey was moving. She kissed my lips. I could still smell her warm body that morning, but unfortunately, she told me quietly, "Really need a shower..." before leaving the tent.

I drifted a while before turning over to see Gwen's eyes watching me. Her lips pursed and she asked, "Dad... like... this is gonna sound weird..."

I waited a moment for her to continue.

Gwen said, "I'm kinda... sore... you know, down there..."

"Hurting?" I asked gently.

"No, not bad, just... you know, kinda sore."

I thought about how to respond for a few seconds, then went with sleepy honesty. "Well... that's not really all that unusual, Gwen... Sometimes things get sort of stretched out or a bit raw... Were, uh..." I swallowed a time or two, not wholly comfortable with what I was about to ask, "were you two using condoms?"

"Of course!"

"And... were you," I gulped, "properly lubricated... throughout?"

I saw her shrug, "Kinda... I think... Maybe..."

"That might be it, then, uh," I paused, uncomfortable but not avoiding a frank conversation with my daughter, "maybe you should ensure you, uh... keep things wet..."

"Like, how exactly?" my daughter asked, clearly not exactly comfortable herself.

"Well... you know... saliva helps... Or... I could buy you some lubrication..."

Audrey returned, smelling of fresh soap, her practice outfit now covering her body. "Are you two talking about lube?" she smiled as she crawled beside me.

I blushed, and so did Gwen. "Uh," I stammered, "yeah."

Gwen offered quietly, "I'm kinda sore, you know... down there..."

"Want me to make sure it's nothing bad?" Audrey replied.

"Uhhhh," Gwen wrinkled her eyes, "what, like, show you my pu--- vagina?"

Audrey shrugged, "Just offering... I doubt your father much wants to check it..."

Awkward silence a moment before Audrey continued, "I mean, if it's bad, Gwen, probably should go to the doctor..."

"It's not bad, really," my daughter said, "just, I dunno, sore..."

"Doesn't sound bad, then. I get sore sometimes, you know, after Darren and I are together... It's normal..."

"Ewww," Gwen said, her nose scrunching, "Tee-emm-eye!"

"Hey, you started it," Audrey giggled.

Gwen blushed again, then said, "Maybe, uh... maybe if I'm not feeling right, I'll, uh, have you see... uh..."

"I've got conditioning in a few hours, but, sure..."

Gwen rolled past us and said nothing more as she left our ersatz tent. I listened as my daughter's footsteps grew faint down the hall, then let out my breath. "Yikes..."

Audrey laughed, "It is so much fun watching you squirm..."

"Not a subject I rather enjoy discussing with my daughters, Audrey..."

She held my hand and kissed my cheek, "But you did, right? Even though it was tough?"

"She ask me a personal question... I do try to answer honestly..."

"I love that so much about you, you know," Audrey said, leaning against me and letting me wrap my arms around her, "honesty is so important to me..."

"Me, as well."

"I'm sure she's fine, Darren, just in case you couldn't tell..."

"I figured... I wasn't about to ask if things got... rough..."

Audrey patted my thigh, "Bad enough asking her if she was wet, right?"

I groaned my answer.

"Fair enough... It is normal to be sore. My pussy gets sore when you really pound it. Not complaining," she added, "just a fact."

"Happens to both of us, but not often will it stop me from wanting more..."

My penis was rising a bit and pressing right against Audrey's butt.

"Mmm... morning quickie in the tent, then?"

"Uh... my daughters are home, Audrey..."

"I can be quiet if you can. Just a quick in and out, until we have time to do more later... I'd love to feel you inside me right now."

I kissed Audrey's neck as she pushed her practice pants down to her thighs. I smelled her arousal in the closed space despite her recent shower, the warm scent of the teen's genitals causing me to surge. I pressed my penis against her labia and pushed inside Audrey's body.

We rutted slowly, not in a rush, kissing softly with her head turned back. I caressed her breasts through her shirt, keeping my breathing calm as I could. I listened intently for any sound of my daughters' return, but for several lovely moments, I heard nothing.

I wasn't particularly close to orgasm when I heard a bedroom door open and on instinct I pulled back my hips, my cock slipping free of Audrey's cunt with a wet plop. She giggled and pulled her pants back in place.

We were both fully covered by the time Vic stuck her head under the makeshift tent flap. My daughter started to say something, wrinkled her nose at the scents inside, then said, "Gross," and disappeared.

Audrey patted my thigh again, "Sorry... suppose I shouldn't have started that right here..."

"It's fine... She didn't see or hear anything..."

"But she smelled me, I think," Audrey said, "I should be a little more cautious about that..."

It was true that Audrey's aroused odors were rather rich and striking. I absolutely loved her smell. I wished I could swim in it. But it did tend to linger, thick and heavy, and filled whatever space she'd been in when we were intimate. I'd several times left a bedroom and come back in soon after, smelling Audrey's scent clearly in the air. "Don't worry about it," I assured her, though I did feel just a little guilty for exposing Victoria to Audrey's intimate aroma.

- - -

Vic had been about to ask Audrey what time they were going to the cages, but she waited in the kitchen, eating cereal, until the two of us came forth. My daughter raised an eyebrow when she saw us, repeating, "Gross," though she had a bit of a smirk instead of a frown.

"Not gross," I assured her, "but... sorry about that, regardless..."

Vic eyed me, a little flushed but grinning then. "Suppose not gross to you, but I don't want to smell that!"

"Sorry, Vic," Audrey said, "didn't mean to offend or anything..."

"It's fine," my daughter replied, "just... kinda hit me hard... is... is that, like... normal?"

"What?" Audrey asked.

"What I smelled. Like... it was, like, super strong..."

Audrey looked at me as if to take over the conversation. "Normal, yes," I said, "and we were in a closed in space, so... that just made it seem more than it was..."

Vic considered that a moment.

I asked, "Surely... you've, uh... noticed the same with Simone... or maybe... yourself, at times?"

Vic shrugged, "Suppose... but... I guess it was gross because... well, you were there!"

I grinned, honestly relieved to hear her say such things. "And I'm sure, if I ever am close enough to you and Simone, I'll think you're gross, too."

Audrey and Vic laughed, shaking their heads, but thankfully dropping the subject.

- - -

Audrey was off to her conditioning practice and she took Victoria with her so that they could go to the batting cages immediately after. Gwen stayed in her room a while, and I could hear her talking to someone on her cell. Pretty soon, she was out to go spend the day with Pete, and I was left alone for a while to consider my thoughts.

A call came in from an unidentified number and I picked up. It was Elise, the old friend from Yates-Parker. We caught up very briefly and then I bridged right into the reason I'd reached out to her, telling her about Tracy and her attempts to publish her books. "She self-publishes, but based on the feedback she gets, she would love to try to increase her exposure."

"Can you have her send me some samples? I'm in marketing, Darren, but I do know many of the buyers and editors here. We're always looking for fresh meat, so to speak. If she's decent and has this big catalog of material, we might be able to give her a chance. No promises."

I agreed I'd have Tracy send her a few of her best and Elise politely cut our call short.

I texted Tracy, letting her know where to send the books. The woman replied quickly, thanking me for my help and saying she would send them right away.

It left me with little to do in that moment. It was too soon to relook at my proposal for the dean, so I turned my attention to figuring out my date night with Audrey.

It was odd that the two of us had never really had a proper date. Of course, her age and mine made it risky to so much as been seen in public together. We had ready explanations, should anyone pry too much, but we knew things might be tricky if anyone who knew us well were to see us do something non-platonic.

I thought it might be nice to take a cue from Pete and take my girlfriend somewhere really nice. Bagano's was one of the top Italian restaurants in the Houston area, and reservations there were often made well in advance. I decided to take the plunge and called up the place when they opened around eleven for lunch. In luck, I secured a dinner reservation for two at seven-thirty.

The rest of my day looked empty. I knew Audrey and Vic would be gone for a couple of hours or more, and Gwen might be gone all day. So, I pulled out a book about the Great Depression and sank into my favorite chair to read.

- - -

I had fallen asleep, waking to the sound of my cell ringing. I picked it up, not knowing the number. "Hello?"

"Uh," a small female voice said, "is, uh, is this Vic's dad?"

"It is... who is this?"

"Simone," the girl replied.

"Oh, hi, Simone..." I wondered how she got my number, the girl having never contacted me directly before. When she said nothing a few seconds, I asked, "Everything okay?"

"Uh, I, uh... I talked to Vic a few minutes ago... uh... I... I really want to leave and come stay with her a while..."

I grew concerned quickly. "What's going on, Simone?"

I could tell she was sobbing lightly. "I hate it here," she told me, "my parents... they just don't understand anything..."

"Are you hurt? Is something wrong?"

"No, not like that," Simone replied, "I just... I want to play ball again and... I miss Vic a lot. I just want to... run away."

I really didn't know what to do. On one hand, I certainly understood the girl's desire to be away from her controlling, fundamentalist parents and enjoy the freedoms of her young womanhood. On the other, though, she was a minor and not really capable of making that sort of decision. At least not without a significant court fight and attorneys and protective bureaus involved. My heart ached for the girl, but what she was asking was beyond what I could offer.

"Simone," I said gently, "running away isn't going to help. It might seem like a good idea, but... you can't just up and leave your parents like that."

"But it stinks here..."

"I know, I know," I told her, "but right now, you have to suck it up a bit and be strong. I know that's not what you were hoping I'd say, but... Think about it. If you came here, then what? I'd have to tell your parents, and they aren't going to let you just stay with Vic. They'd make things so much worse for you then."

"So," the girl said weakly, sobbing, "I can't come and stay with Vic?"

"I'm fine with you coming over, Simone, always. But living here... no, I think that's out of the question."

She said nothing, letting the silence hang a moment, only a hint of her sobbing coming over the line. "Okay..." she said quietly, "I just wanted to ask..."

"Can I do anything else, Simone? Do you need anything?"

"I just want to stay with Vic and play ball..."

"I know, Sweetie. I'm sure sorry. If you can get your parents to let you visit, I'll be glad to come pick you up, okay? Have them call me if you need to..."

"Okay," Simone said, defeated, "Bye..."

- - -

I called Vic and spent several long minutes explaining the serious concerns I had about shuffling this idea off to me the way she had. It wasn't great that she'd gotten her girlfriend's hopes up like that only to have me put my foot down. I explained, again, that if Simone was being abused somehow, I'd consider that differently, but for the time being, there was nothing I could do.

Vic wasn't happy with my decision, but she admitted she knew it was a long shot before hanging up.

I let out a long breath, frustrated for my daughter and for Simone. Even if there was cause to take the girl in, the nightmare of dealing with her parents and the authorities was not one I wanted to try to navigate. I'd protect Simone if she was being abused, as I'd told Vic, but anything less than that was too tricky to solve easily.

I ran out for lunch in the early afternoon, choosing a small deli nearby where I liked to order their capicola and roast beef sandwich and then eat it while sitting at one of the outside tables. Energized for the day, I chose to get my order to go, and spent the next hour briskly walking around the nearby park, using my gnawing hunger and that evening's date with Audrey as incentives for the exercise. I wasn't growing any younger, and the only way I was ever going to even pretend to keep up with Audrey was to stay in shape as best I could.

I slumped down on a park bench beside the large pond in the middle of the park after my legs started to feel heavy, feeling rather good despite my fatigue. The heat had really driven itself into me and I drank all but the last few swallows of my bottled iced tea before tearing into the sandwich.

My cell rang about halfway through. "Hey, Audrey!"

"Hi, Darren. We're just finishing up at the cages. Did you eat lunch yet?"

"Most of the way through it right now, actually. Got a little exercise first at the park."

"Oh, great," she replied, "mind if Vic and I stop for something to eat before heading back?"

"I never mind you being your own adult person," I grinned, "no need for my permission."

I heard her chuckle, "I know, silly. I just wanted to be thoughtful."

"And I love that about you. Don't eat too much, though, I've got us reservations tonight at seven-thirty."

"Oh, lovely! Where?"

"Bagano's."

Audrey replied, "Oh, big spender... hoping a girl might put out if you buy her an expensive steak and lobster dinner?"

"Something like that," I agreed with a smile.

"Well, hell," Audrey laughed, "I might just consider it, too."

I heard Vic in the background say, "Get a room!"

Audrey told her, "Sorry."

"I'll let you two get to it. See you soon."

"Love you, Darren."

"Love you."

- - -

I dressed up for our dinner like I hadn't in some time. Nothing crazy like a tuxedo, but the nicest sport coat and slacks I had, both dark blue and fitting me surprisingly well. I'd showered and shaved and added a dash or two of cologne, then waited in the living room for Audrey to finish getting ready next door.

Vic was morose and sleeping on the couch. Well, not sleeping, but trying to. She was sad about Simone and asked me, again, about letting her stay with us. Gently as I could, I declined and once more explained my reasons. I knew it sucked for her, but there really was nothing I could do.

I left my daughter to rest around seven, still no sign of Gwen so I texted my oldest, and she let me know she'd be home in an hour or two.

Walking up the steps to my house was the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. Not that it was a new thing, to see Audrey that way, but she had dressed to impress and took my breath away. Her hair was curled and hanging wonderfully down to her neck, red glossy lipstick and eyeliner and peach accents on her cheeks. The dress, which gripped her perfectly without seeming tight, looked like something a teen would wear to a prom when she wanted to stand out. Gaudy rich green with folds at the bottom, the front conservatively covered her cleavage, almost up to her neckline, and her breasts were subtle curves just below. She spun once, giggling, "Well?"

"Goddamn," I breathed.

She laughed, "I'll take that."

I almost reached to kiss her but remembered we were standing in front of my house where neighbors might see. Soon, I was driving us towards our destination and feeling rather giddy with my lovely date holding my hand the whole time.

- - -

Bagano's was well-known as an upscale place, and the insides were both decadent and richly decored. Golden drapes around columns, grape leaves wound around them, and a white, polished stone floor underneath. Tables were covered with rich red or chocolate brown linens, plush seats with wide arms at each one. We were shown to our table and sat down, both of us trying hard not to appear too intimate in public. It was difficult, to say the least.

Audrey looked older than sixteen, for sure. She could have easily passed for nineteen or twenty with her dress and hair and makeup. It wasn't a sure thing that any stranger would think much beyond our age difference. But I knew it was always possible someone who knew us might be around and because of that, we couldn't hold hands or kiss or even show too much familiarity while at the restaurant. That didn't stop me from gently rubbing my ankle along Audrey's calves underneath the well-covered table.

- - -

We'd both ordered a steak and lobster, starting with a small Italian garden salad and freshly-baked bread as they cooked our meals. My phone rang and I saw it was Victoria. I debated ignoring it.

"Vic?"

"Dad! You have to come home, right now!"

"What? What's going on?" I demanded, my heart already racing.

"Simone told her parents about us and they started hitting her. Gwen is going to pick her up. Please, Dad. We need help!"

I grumbled, my stomach suddenly unwell. "Just stay put. Where is Gwen now?"

"She just left."

"I'll call her. Stay put."

I hung up and started flipping to my older daughter's contact. Audrey saw my face and asked, "What's wrong?"

"Simone apparently told her parents and things got bad. I'm not really sure." My daughter picked up and I said to her, "Gwen? Turn around. Don't go over there right now. You don't know what might be going on."

"Dad! Someone has to help her. She's not home, she left earlier. I'm going to get her."

"I'll meet you. Where is she?"

Gwen told me the name of the plaza where Simone had hidden out inside a coffee shop. I hung up and groaned. "Seems I have to deal with this right now... I'm so sorry, Audrey..."

She showed her concern clearly, "You're fine, Darren. Seriously, I'm in for helping, however I can."

I felt my heart swell with her understanding. I carefully mouthed, I love you. Out loud, I said "Let me just clear things up here, maybe they can bag it up for us to get later..."

- - -

Gwen was already with Simone by the time I arrived. I saw no police around, and no sign of the girl's parents. I eased into the booth across from the girl while Audrey, looking far-too overdressed for the coffee shop, sat next to Gwen. "Simone... what's going on?"

The girl had obviously been crying, but she was doing her best to hide it, no tears falling in that moment. "I told them everything about me and Vic and they started beating me, saying I had the Devil in me, that I was possessed by Satan..."

I saw then a thin scrape along her jaw line, wondering if that was one such hit. "Jesus," I whispered. "Okay... Let's get you back to my place and see what we can do, okay?"

The girl nodded. I looked to Audrey and Gwen for help, so the two guided Simone as I got my car started. Simone didn't cry on the way to my house, and she offered the same story several different times, that she had revealed that she was gay and that she and Vic were dating and her parents had grabbed Bibles and hit her with hands and a belt.

We got her into the house and she was in Vic's arms immediately, the girls both openly crying together while I pulled Audrey and Gwen aside in the kitchen. "I have to call them," I said.

"Her parents? Why?" Gwen asked, not believing what I'd said.

"Because they have to know where their daughter is. I'm not saying I'll just hand her back over, Gwen," I added, cutting off her next protest, "but they have to know..."

"Why not just call the police?" Audrey asked. "Let them sort it out..."

"Good idea... I don't know that this is going to be a fun night or necessarily end well for Simone... Any help Vic can get just keeping her calm and comfortable would be great."

"Of course!" Audrey replied.

"Same," my daughter said.

I picked up my phone and dialed the non-emergency line at the police department.

- - -

"You said they struck you, about how many times?" the officer asked as he stood in the living room questioning the girl, his partner hanging back near me, keeping his eyes turning past each of us as if looking to see if we might be lying or hiding something.

"My face, once, that was my mom... she scraped me with her nail," Simone said, pointing to the small scratch on her lower cheek, "and with the belt, like, I dunno... fifteen? Twenty? My dad did that..."

"And, they were telling you what, again? Something about a devil?"

Simone repeated what she'd told us at the cafe and in my car, describing the way her parents had terrified her and tried to break the supposed possession which had caused their daughter to claim to be gay. The officer jotted down the notes, then nodded to his partner. The man near me ducked his head out the door and I saw him making a phone call.

"For now, just hang out here, alright?" The investigating officer said, kneeling down near Simone. "We have to contact your parents..." Simone started to tense up, "we'll talk to them and see what's going on, okay? I promise you, Miss Simone, we won't let you get hurt again tonight, alright?"

I appreciated the officer's words, but I didn't particularly care for his inclusion of 'tonight' in that sentiment. I suppose he couldn't promise more, so I didn't bother to say anything.

Officer Collins, the man inside, talked to me a bit in the kitchen away from the others, explaining quietly that the girl would likely need a place to stay for the night, and usually, they would take victims of abuse to one of the safe houses available nearby. If the girl chose, though, she could stay at my home for a night or two, but that wasn't likely to be a more permanent solution should they find the need to keep the girl away from her parents. A foster home would be arranged in that event.

I assured him Simone could stay with us as long as needed, and I gave my contact information to Collins so that he could reach me directly.

The other officer, Longfellow, came inside and joined us in the kitchen. "Parents are willing to meet us at a neutral site right now. They were a little difficult to get under control on the phone. You finished up here?" he asked his partner.

"Until we talk to them, yes."

"Mr. Oxley, we will likely be back by after meeting the girl's parents. I'm having someone from CPS join us there to assess. Any issues keeping the girl here until we know how to proceed?"

"None, I told Officer Collins she can stay as long as necessary."

Longfellow nodded, then said, "We'll be in contact shortly."

The men left and closed the door behind them. Audrey took my hand, holding it firmly, then remembered that Simone was just a few feet away and dropped it quickly. I frowned at the intrusion into our magical first date night, but then I felt selfish. Simone was in a real bad spot, and I felt guilty for thinking of myself when the girl need my help.

Once more, I mouthed, I love you, to Audrey, then joined the girls in the living to see if I could offer any support.

- - -

The officers returned an hour later and I met them outside the front door, leaving the girls inside. A young woman, perhaps in her late-20s pulled up behind them and joined us. "Mr. Oxley, this is Samantha Riley, from CPS."

"Hello," the woman said, "I understand you're willing to take custody of Simone this evening and keep her here until we can sort this out?"

"That's correct," I replied. She handed me a clipboard with forms to sign.

"The parents are in a state where I don't feel we can send Simone back to stay there tonight. We've got someone going out to meet with them, and with Simone, tomorrow to figure out how to solve their situation. I understand Simone declined to press charges?"

Officer Collins nodded, "Affirmative."

"She's still a minor, so the city could do it on her behalf, but for tonight, let's let it be. For now, there's really nothing more for anyone to do except get a good night's sleep. We'll be in contact in the morning, Mr. Oxley, about meeting with Simone."

"We'll be here, uh, thank you, Miss Riley."

The woman nodded and turned back to her car. The officers let me know to contact them if there were any problems. Before they left, I asked, "Is there any likelihood that, you know, the parents might try to cause trouble my house?"

"There's always a chance, Mr. Oxley. Between us, they seem wildly off-balance right now. We calmed them down and sent them home. If you suspect anything, don't hesitate to call nine-one-one. I'll ensure we have officers patrolling around overnight, keeping an eye out. I don't expect they'll be any trouble, but they do know where you live, and given their mindset, can't rule out anything just yet."

"I appreciate that. Thanks, officers."

"Our pleasure."

- - -

I told Simone and the girls what I'd learned. "So, you're safe here with us for now, Simone. Why don't, uh, why don't you share Vic's room and get some sleep."

Simone was clearly drained, and Vic wasn't much more lively. They both nodded and then shuffled off down the hall. I sat on the couch and Audrey joined me. Gwen stood a moment, then asked quietly, "What's going to happen, Dad?"

"Dunno, really. I suspect the parents will calm down just enough to get her back, but then..." I shrugged into a frustrated slouch.

"Can't believe they hit her," Audrey said, "that's just terrible!"

"Agreed. Dad never hit us that I remember..."

I shook my head, "Nothing like that, no. I may have swatted a butt a time or two, but never hard enough to hurt you one bit."

Gwen smiled, "Yeah, I think maybe twice you spanked me, and it was kinda sad, really..."

"Hey," I protested, "my heart wasn't in it. Even if I'm mad at you, I don't want to hurt you."

"Appreciate that, Dad," Gwen grinned, then her face relaxed, "even more glad now that I see how bad it can get when someone just loses it..."

"I doctored up her cut," Audrey told me, "put a little antibiotic gel on it. I doubt it will even show in a week or two. Still, what a shitty thing to do to a kid..."

- - -

Audrey curled up with my in my bed. We decided to just be careful in the morning for when Simone was around, but it seemed likely that Audrey would rise earlier and she could dart over to her house before our ward had gotten up. We snuggled together, me holding Audrey from behind. We were both worn out. I started to drift. Audrey woke me when she quietly said, "Hey you... can we finish what we started this morning?"

I grinned. Even tired as I was, there was no way I would turn down my horny girlfriend. Already naked, Audrey bent slightly and I was soon inside her vagina, slowly rutting together and moaning softly. I told her, "You were beautiful tonight, Audrey. You're always beautiful, but you outdid yourself. Makes me think... Mmmm... Mmm... you love me... Ohhh..."

She giggled and clenched her vagina around my length as I began to swell, my fingers moving steadily between her thighs, "Oh, I do... Uhnnn... I love you... Uhnn... Uhnn... and I love... dressing up... Mmmm... for you... You make me wet, Darren... and... I'm gonna cum..."

"Me too..." I purred.

Mating together, swelling, her body tensing and mine straining. Audrey climaxed first, creaming me, tightening her grip as I surged, filling her body with my semen, gushing my love inside the teen as she coated me with hers. I kissed her neck, shuddering in pleasure, soon drifting again as we held together, my penis slowly slipping free from her body. Her light snores were pleasant and sweet, and I smiled to myself as I went under.
